Plan examination priority changes

Landgate has revised its prioritisation of plan types for examination, in consultation with industry, to better support the WA Government's commitment to increasing housing supply through efficient processing of plans and new titles.

The new plan priority categories are effective immediately and are outlined in the updated SPP-18 Plan Examination Procedures. The key changes are the introduction of a Very High Priority category for any plan that is ready for new titles, and built strata plans with 50 or more lots. The revised High Priority category now includes built strata plans (2-49 lots) and Special Survey Area deposited plans.

Plans that are ready for new titles can use the ‘Ready for Titles’ process as outlined in the updated SPP-17 Plan Lodgement Procedures. The Licensed Surveyor needs to select this option by checking the ‘Readiness to Proceed’ box and providing the application for new titles document number in the Surveyor Portal. The lodged plan must be ready to examine, with all required planning clearances obtained, and/or all relevant local government and other forms provided.

The option to request expedited processing of plans and new titles remains, as explained in the updated LOD-05 Request to Expedite the Processing of Plans and Documents. The lodged plan must be ready to examine, and the request to expedite a plan must include a certified copy of the signed application for new titles in relation to the plan.

Surveyors are reminded that examined plans must be forwarded to WAPC prior to the expiry date of the preliminary planning approval. Surveyors should understand that providing their consent to Landgate to send the examined plan to WAPC means that they have already lodged the clearances with WAPC.
