CIB 379 | Public consultation for the review of the Land Information Authority Act 2006 is now open

The Land Information Authority Act 2006 (the Act) requires that every five years a review must be conducted of the Act which assesses its operation and effectiveness, and has regard to:

(a)    the effectiveness of the operations of Landgate; and

(b)    the need for the continuation of the functions of Landgate; and

(c)     any other matters that appear to the Minister to be relevant to the operation and effectiveness of this Act.

Under this provision of the Act, a review is being conducted into the operation and effectiveness of the Act this year.

The review aims to assess the performance of Landgate over the past five-year period, evaluating if Landgate meets the needs of the State in the provision of land information.  A report based on the review will be  tabled in Parliament by the end of the current calendar year.

As part of this review, we are seeking feedback from you as Landgate’s customers about your experiences dealing with Landgate through public consultation. During this time you will be able to complete a short survey to express your views on Landgate’s operations, including any feedback you may have about particular products or services.

Alternatively, if you would like to provide a written submission, or if you have any questions regarding the review, please email haveyoursay@landgate.wa.gov.au.

Landgate does not intend to publish any feedback received. Feedback submissions will be treated as confidential, however they may still be subject to the operation of the Freedom of Information Act 1992.

The public consultation period will be open until 5pm AWST on 27 May 2022.

To have your say, complete the Landgate open consultation -  2022 review of Landgate's enabling legislation survey.
