CIB 363: Change in Landgate customer service arrangements

Landgate’s highest priority is the health and safety of our customers, community and staff, particularly in the extraordinary circumstances presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yesterday evening the State Government announced Western Australia would enter a four-day lockdown from 12.01am Tuesday 29 June 2021 until 12.01am Saturday 3 July 2021.

As a result, Landgate is implementing self-lodgement of all paper documents only. This means the Landgate team will not accept customer-facing lodgement – instead you will self-lodge as per the amended lodgement process. Note, this will only be available at the Perth office. Phone and webchat support will remain available.

Electronic lodgement of eligible documents continues as normal.

For paper lodgement, the Digital Lodgement Acceptability Check (LAC) process will not be required and Digital LAC requests will not be assessed.

In addition, to help reduce the risk of community transmission we are closing our customer facing office in Midland completely during the period of this shutdown.

Only the Perth office will be open for self-lodgement until further notice.

Please note the counters will not be staffed, and those attending to self-lodge must adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear facemasks.

It is acknowledged that in the current environment it may be difficult to apply the full face-to-face verification of identity process: and overseas witnessing requirements. Refer to CIB 331 for additional information on how to navigate this.

Landgate continues to maintain a high standard of hygiene at our counters, with hand sanitiser available for customer use and additional cleaning of surface areas undertaken regularly throughout the day.

If you are unwell, we respectfully ask that you refrain from attending our counters and having direct contact with our staff and other customers. We also ask that you only attend the office if absolutely necessary.

People attending a Landgate office must follow the lockdown restrictions put in place to help keep people safe and must only attend the Perth office if permitted to do so under the Government’s lockdown instructions. Those attending the Perth office must:

* Wear a mask at all times, unless exempt.
* Practice good hygience by using the automatic hand sanitiser stations at the entrance to the Perth offie, and on our counters.
* Ensure physical distancing practices are adhered to with a 2 square metre rule in place.
* Complete the SafeWA contact register by either scanning the QR code from the SafeWA app, or registering manually upon entry.

Our Western Australian based Customer Service team is available on phone (08) 9273 7373 to assist you with your enquiries.

We will continue to monitor advice from the Western Australian Department of Health and relevant government authorities and are well prepared to take additional action should the advice change.

We will continue to keep you updated as the situation unfolds.
