The surveying and spatial sciences industry has named Western Australia’s Surveyor General and long standing Landgate employee Dione Bilick WA Spatial Professional of the Year.
Ms Bilick accepted the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) award at a gala event in Perth on Friday 13 October 2017.
The award recognises outstanding leaders who have made a lasting difference to the surveying and spatial profession.
Landgate Chief Executive Jodi Cant said the award was well deserved.
“As Western Australia’s 20th Surveyor General, Ms Bilick oversees the integrity of the state’s plans and surveys,” said Ms Cant.
“Ms Bilick has also held a series of outstanding leadership roles at Landgate which have transformed the surveying profession’s processes from paper-based to digital.”
“She is an enthusiastic advocate of the surveying profession and has been at the forefront of reforms at Landgate to deliver real benefits to surveyors.”
Ms Bilick will now be entered into the Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards which will be announced in April 2018.
