Appointment of Western Australia’s Valuer-General

Landgate is pleased to confirm the appointment of Western Australia's Valuer-General Mr Graham Jeffery by the State's Executive Council and the Lieutenant-Governor and deputy of the Governor of Western Australia under section 6 of the Valuation of Land Act 1978.

Mr Jeffery holds an Associate Diploma in Valuation, and is a Certified Practising Valuer and Licensed Valuer. He was appointed to the position of Acting Valuer-General in November 2010. This was preceded by a five-year appointment as Landgate's Manager Property and Valuation Services.

Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford congratulated Mr Jeffery on his appointment.

"Mr Jeffery has extensive knowledge of the land valuation sector, combined with significant experience in senior management and leadership roles," Mr Bradford said.

"The valuation of land for rating and taxing purposes is an important role that Landgate has been entrusted to deliver on behalf of the State and I have every confidence in Mr Jeffery's leadership to ensure that this statutory obligation is fulfilled."

The State's Valuer-General is designated by the Governor of Western Australia. It is an independent statutory officer who has the necessary qualifications and experience appropriate to exercise the powers and performance of the duties and functions conferred or imposed under the Valuation of Land Act 1978.

Further information about the role of Western Australia's Valuer-General is available on Landgate's website.
