Solid increase in end of financial year document lodgements

End of financial year figures in Landgate's June 2014 Business Activity Profile (BAP) confirm that total document lodgements for 2013/14 have increased.

The 2013/14 total document lodgement figure was 363,477, an increase of almost 5 per cent when compared to 2012/13 (346,610).

The total number of documents lodged in June 2014 (36,423) increased by 11.22 per cent when compared to the previous month (32,748) and an increase of 3.86 per cent when compared to June 2013 (35,071).

Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said the end of financial year figures reflected overall improvement in the property market.

"Over the past three months, Landgate has created more than 8,500 freehold and strata lots, issued 9,440 new titles, and on the last day of the financial year, 4,243 documents were lodged at our Perth and Midland offices," Mr Bradford said.

"Landgate's customer service and registration teams need to be commended as they have implemented innovative and efficient practices to meet the timeframes and our customers' needs and expectations."

Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.

The June 2014 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
