New lot creations continue to increase

Figures released today in Landgate's April 2014 Business Activity Profile (BAP) continue to show significant increases in new, subdivisional and strata lot creations.

Earlier in the year, land developers advised Landgate to expect substantial increases in requests for new, subdivisional and strata lot creations up to the end of the 2013/14 financial year.

In April 2014:

  • 3,955 new lots were created, an increase of 34.43 per cent (2,942) when compared to
the previous month and an increase of 75.58 per cent (2,250) when compared to April
    2013
  • 2,965 subdivisional lots were created, an increase of 35.64 per cent (2,186) when
compared to the previous month and an increase of 89.22 per cent (1,567) when

Landgate experienced a considerable influx of document lodgements in the three working days between the Easter and ANZAC Day long weekends, with more than 1,600 documents being lodged per day at the Midland and Perth CBD offices.

The total number of document lodgements in April 2014 (29,261) represented a marginal increase of 1.05 per cent when compared to the previous month (28,956).

The April 2014 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all
documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other
categories of property related documents.
