Landgate assists Vietnam with National Resources Project

Landgate expertise may be used to assist Vietnam establish a resources and environment national data base. 

Delegates from Vietnam's Department of Information Technology (CIREN), led by the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE), visited Landgate to get an overview of the Agency's data management systems. 

They were also able to meet with Landgate's Chief Executive Mike Bradford and general managers to discuss training and consultancy opportunities. 

MoNRE is keen to gain Landgate's expertise to facilitate the development of a geospatial network that will unify Vietnam's many scattered databases residing in hundreds of offices throughout the country. The project aims to provide government, private developers and the general public access to natural resources and environmental information via the web. 

It is anticipated the project, titled "Building National Databases on Natural Resources and Environment" will lead to significant economic and social benefits for Vietnam. 

The project commenced in 2010 and is expected to be rolled out in 2014.
