CIB 419: Increased Electronic Transfer documents now available

To increase the capability of transfer documents that can be lodged electronically, Landgate has been working with RevenueWA and the Electronic Lodgment Network Operators (ELNOs) to develop an e-conveyancing hub. The hub enables duty information to be passed from RevenueWA to the ELNOs via Landgate’s systems.

The first phase of the e-conveyancing hub launched on 09 October 2023.

This has increased the types of transfer documents that are eligible to be lodged electronically by industry professionals. The increased capability extends to Certificates of Title where the ownership is already registered in a capacity, such as an executor, administrator, or trustee in bankruptcy.

Under the Transfer of Land Regulations 2004, eligible transfers prepared by industry professionals must be lodged electronically. We understand that some transactions have already been in preparation, known as “in-flight transactions”. An in-flight transaction will be accepted for paper lodgement, providing the transfer document:

  • was not eligible for electronic lodgement before 09 October 2023 and
  • is supported by an Offer and Acceptance or written agreement dated before 09 October 2023.
