Tenure Data
The Tenure dataset contains information about the ownership and vesting of freehold and Crown land in Western Australia. Tenure data is gathered from Transfer of Land documents registered as part of the document registration process. This information is stored on the Smart Register system as tables to the various register components such as names, parcels, titles and documents.

The legal register information is stored on the original Certificates of Title and accessed in an image form. All searches for legal or conveyancing purposes are conducted from the imaged documents. Tenure data contains owners name information and is subject to strict licensing conditions.
Coverage
Tenure data is available for all freehold and crown land parcels within Western Australia.
Data fields
Attributes of Tenure data include:
- Unique PIN number, which links the tenure data to the relevant cadastral land parcel
- Register number
- Property street address (also available separately)
- Area of the land parcel calculated in hectares (This may not be the legal area)
- Owner name (subject to privacy conditions)
- Date of Acquisition
