SLIP has won its category at the 2008 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA).

The ground breaking cross-government technology initiative, which has been driven by Landgate, was awarded the “Spatially Enabling Government” industry award.

The APSEA winners were announced in Canberra on Tuesday, November 18 as part of the Asia Pacific Spatial Innovation Conference 2008.

The win comes on top of SLIP being named overall winner at the Western Australian Spatial Excellence Awards in August.

APSEA celebrates the achievements of top spatial information enterprise and showcases the finest projects that Australian and Asian industry has to offer.

SLIP was entered in the awards by the Government of Western Australia on behalf of Landgate, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure (DPI), Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAAFWA) and Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA).

Western Australian entrants won seven of the 16 awards.
