The Western Australian Government’s groundbreaking program that provides on-line access to land information held by a range of government agencies took out the major award at the 2008 Western Australian Spatial Excellence Awards.
The Shared Land Information platform (SLIP), initially conceived and led by Landgate won the Spatially Enabled Government category as well as the overall winner in the industry categories.
Landgate’s Grahame Searle was also recognised for his leadership in bringing SLIP from a concept to a reality and for the way in which Landgate has been transformed from a State Government Department to a commercially-oriented statutory authority demonstrating excellence in customer service.
Mr Searle was presented with the Professional Eminence and Excellence in Spatial Sciences individual award. In addition he was made an Honourary Fellow of SSI.
Three other Landgate employees also won individual awards.
They were Darren Mottolini and Chris Tweedie who were joint winners of the Young Spatial Professional of the Year and Patrick Fitzgerald who was named Spatial Student of the Year – Undergraduate.
