Proposed new scale of fees

05/30/2008

Subject to the Governor’s approval in Executive Council, Landgate advises that a new scale of fees will apply from the commencement of business on July 1, 2008. The new scale of fees relate to provision of services for document registration, survey lodgement and searching at Landgate offices.

Registration Fees

The proposed fee amendments will increase the base land transaction document registration fee for freehold and Crown land from $85.00 to $88.00, and the deposited plan and strata/survey strata plan general lodgement fee from $133.00 to $137.00.

Other fee amendments include the following:

The production fee for duplicate titles is increased to $44.00 for the first Certificate of Title. The fee for producing subsequent duplicate Certificates of Title, for the same document, remains at $6.00 for each additional duplicate Certificate of Title.

The fee for the withdrawal of a document from registration increases to $44.00.

An application to send 21 days notice (Section 138 TLA) increases by $6.00 to $176.00

Survey Lodgement

The deposited plan and strata/survey strata plan general fee increases by $4.00 to $137.00, if deposition with the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is not required. Additionally, the fee for each lot, other than a lot vesting in the Crown under section 152 of the Planning and Development Act 2005, increases by $2.00 to $54.00. If WAPC deposition is required, the fee for preparing copies and depositing a plan with WAPC increases from $58.00 to $60.00.

Proposal to Discontinue Interactive Charges

You told us you don’t like interactive charges so we’re taking steps to discontinue them.

We’re proposing to redefine our online products and pricing as part of our annual review of fees and charges. The review includes an amalgamation of interactive search functions for names and other indices with primary search functions for obtaining a copy of Certificate of Title, Check Search, Survey (Diagram, Deposited Plan and Strata Plan) and other conveyancing documentation registered with us.

We intend the new pricing to commence from 1 July 2008, subject to the approval of the Governor in Executive Council. Visit proposed fee schedule for 2008 to view the new pricing.

The new online pricing will mean that Land Enquiry subscribers will be able to search for information online using multiple screens without incurring interactive fees - except when searching screens for Power of Attorney detail and for Sales Enquiry listings.

Following implementation of the new pricing, your monthly invoice from Landgate will look exactly the same except that interactive charges will be shown as $0.00. An amount will show only if you have undertaken searches for Power of Attorney detail and/or for Sales Enquiry listings.

To view fees online for searching Power of Attorney detail and/or Sales Enquiry listings, you will need to refer to Billed Information via the My Account function in My Landgate. The View Request function will contain a record of your searching activity only.

The benefits of the proposed new pricing include:

access to multiple screens without incurring additional charges
certainty about the cost of obtaining land information online
easier to track costs, and
simplified invoicing
