Landgate Map Viewer

The Landgate Map Viewer in an online system providing access to Western Australia's land and property information. Map Viewer provides the ability to graphically search for geodetic marks, either radially from a selected point or by drawing an irregular shaped figure around points of interest. Textual searches on mark name or stamped name, and filtering by status of mark whether it is spirit levelled or cadastrally connected, are also features of this system. With Map Viewer you can also search by land descriptions including address, crown allotments, crown reserves, lot on survey, leases, state forest, timber reserves and marine parks. The property information is displayed graphically in an electronic mapping environment using a web browser. Some major topographical features are included as a back drop, along with metropolitan region scheme zones.

Map Viewer also includes aerial photography and street map layers, which can be viewed individually or overlaid using varying levels of transparency to create a single view. Map Viewer is available in the Survey, Government and Business Channels of Landgate.


Australian/New Zealand Standard™

The Australian/New Zealand Standard™(AS4819:2003) for Geographic information—Rural and urban addressing was prepared by the Street Address Working Group of the Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping for the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand Committee IT-004, Geographical Information to supersede AS/NZS 4724:2000, Geographic information—Rural addressing.

The objective of this Standard is to provide users with a comprehensive guide that encompasses all aspects of rural and urban addressing. As such, this Standard incorporates and makes references to a number of existing Standards and jurisdictional guidelines relating to different aspects of addressing.
