Progress on the Statutory Authority

The Governor of Western Australia in Executive Council proclaimed the Land Information Authority Act 2006 on Tuesday, December 5.
The Governor fixed January 1 as the day when the provisions of the Act (other than Part 1 which is already in operation) as the commencement date.
As of Monday January 1, 2007 the statutory authority, the Western Australian Land Information Authority, will trade as DLI.

The first and second reading speeches for the Land Information Authority Bill were given on Wednesday 14 June 2006, and the Bill is now in the public realm. It will be debated in Parliament in the up-coming spring session that commences on 15 August.
