Privacy of Titles and Records
Landgate's online shop is currently unavailable. We are working to rectify the issue and will provide an update as soon as possible. Landgate apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Landgate only releases land information that it is required to provide, or allowed to provide, by law.
Land titles and all associated land transaction documents recorded with Landgate form part of the Land Titles Register. This information has been publicly available since the very first Land Grants were made in Western Australia.
The Transfer of Land Act 1893 and the Valuation of Land Act 1978 require Landgate to make the information in the Register and the State’s valuation rolls available to the public.
Landgate does this to meet a variety of community needs, including the efficient running of land and property markets and associated industries.
For example, if a person planned to sell his/her property it would be impossible to undertake a property appraisal if valuation and related information on surrounding properties was not available.
