Memorials (Deeds Act)
Copies can be provided of memorial documents from the old Deeds System. A memorial is an exact copy of the original deed lodged at the Office of Titles, showing evidence that a transaction has taken place under the Registration of Deeds Act 1856. These may be Deeds of Conveyance (Transfer) or Deeds of Encumbrance (Caveats and Mortgages). Searching of deeds is allowed in person only, staff will assist but not search. Copies of these memorials are delivered in hard copy over the counter or via Land Enquiry if the memorial number is known.
