One of Malaysia’s most senior and respected Ministers was a welcome visitor last week to Landgate’s Satellite Remote Sensing Services (SRSS) at Floreat.
Minister for Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Dato Mustapa Mohamed and an eight person delegation accompanied by Mr Verghese Jacob of the Western Australian Trade Office, Kuala Lumpur were given a guided tour of SRSS after enjoying a lunch hosted by Landgate International.
Landgate International Director Arnold Wong said the Minister was very interested in Landgate’s international expertise and solution, particularly in Satellite Remote Sensing applications which assist land planning.
“The Minister’s key areas of interest were the monitoring of floods and fires and our agriculture based applications, such as Pastures from Space and AgWatch,” he said.
The delegation, which included representatives from the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute, was provided with live demonstrations of these applications via My Landgate
