The Shared Land Information Platform (SLIP), a ground-breaking cross-government technology initiative, has been awarded top honours at this year’s Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management.
Premier Colin Barnett made the announcement at a ceremony last night in Perth.
SLIP, initially conceived and led by Landgate, also won the ‘Improving Government’ category that recognises ‘outstanding achievement towards strengthening the systems of Western Australian Government and maintaining a skilled, diverse and ethical public sector that serves Western Australians.’
On behalf of the Board Landgate’s Chairman, Monty House, acknowledged the significance of the win.
“The Premier’s Awards are very prestigious and I pay particular tribute to the dedication and innovation of all Landgate staff,” he said.
Acting Chief Executive Mike Bradford said the award was recognition of the outstanding implementation of a world-leading project that had involved hundreds of people in Western Australia over several years.
“We look forward to realising the benefits SLIP provides to the State and community over the years to come,” Mr Bradford said.
“I would like to acknowledge the visionary leadership of Grahame Searle, Landgate’s former Chief Executive, in driving the collaboration between government agencies to develop the SLIP concept.”
