Geodetic Information
The geodetic network is the foundation of all spatial data in Western Australia and Landgate is the central repository for this information. The geodetic database (GESMAR) stores the details of about a 60 000 permanent geodetic survey marks and includes Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. The data is available in various formats – hardcopy, digital files and online.
Geodetic Network Upgrade
Twenty six new Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) will be rolled out across the state from 2007-2011.
Geodetic Strategy
The Geodetic Strategy articulates Landgate’s vision for the geodetic framework for the next 5 years. The Strategy sees the continuance of existing services, plus a new focus on providing an infrastructure using the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to support both research and industry needs.
