Dowerin GWN Machinery Field Days
08/26/2008
Landgate will be on show this week at the 2008 Dowerin GWN Machinery Field Days.
In its 42nd year, the event remains the biggest show of agricultural machinery and equipment in Western Australia and this year is themed around ‘smart farmers’.
Representatives from Landgate Satellite Remote Sensing Services will be on hand to introduce customers to Landgate’s property-related and remote sensing products (available through Farm Channel).
Farm Channel gives registered customers online access to Agimage, Pastures from Space, Vegetation Watch and Land Monitor.
Farmers are using these products to assess the progress of the current cropping season, and to view estimates of pasture growth rates derived from climate and satellite data in order to adjust stocking rates.
Acting Manager Satellite Remote Sensing Services Matt Adams said Dowerin Field Days was a great opportunity for Landgate to reach a large audience in such a short time-frame.
“Dowerin is a huge event in the agricultural calendar, with farmers travelling from all over WA to attend,” Dr Adams said.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to introduce the rural community to Landgate’s products and services and to show them how our technology can help them become smarter farmers.”
Landgate is located in booths 16 and 17 of the lifestyle pavilion.
