Geodetic Strategy

Landgate's Geodetic Strategy for Western Australia 2007-2012 (631kb pdf) now available.

The draft Strategy was made available for consultation and feedback from 4 July to 31 August. Sixteen feedback submissions were received in total, and Landgate thanks all those who afforded the time and effort to provide comment.

The following reference documents were used to compile the Strategy and are available for download:

· The 2007 Geodetic Questionnaire that sought feedback on the current use of the physical geodetic network (ground marks) and their potential use of GNSS and CORS technology in the future
· CORS Research Report (2.7mb PDF) – this is the 2005 Landgate-sponsored Curtin University research report on CORS and a Future Geodetic Framework for WA
· CORS Research Report Executive Summary (127kb PDF)
· Technical Document (1.36mb PDF)
· The 2005 independent scoping study (328kb PDF) commissioned by Landgate to identify the issues to be addressed as part of the Geodetic Network Review.

The recommendations of this research have been endorsed by the Landgate Chief Executive and an action plan has been developed for implementation. The research supports the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) to densify the State CORS network for scientific applications as well as improving positioning services for the surveying and mapping industry and the wider community.
